THE AGREEMENT BETWEEN US
Plain terms for a records tool. Rekodi keeps your books; it does not give financial or tax advice, and it does not move your money. The details are below.
ON THIS PAGE
Rekodi is a business record-keeping service that runs inside WhatsApp. You send it messages describing what happened in your business — sales, purchases, expenses, debts — and it records them, keeps your books, and answers questions about your figures, in English or Kiswahili.
Rekodi is a record-keeping tool, not a bank or a payment service. It does not hold, move, send or receive your money. Where you connect M-Pesa, Rekodi acts only on instructions you give it.
Rekodi is offered in three monthly plans. Debt (deni) tracking and your daily figures are included on every plan.
Prices are in Kenyan Shillings, per month, and may change during the testing period with notice. Subscriptions are paid in advance.
New shops start with a 14-day free trial on the full feature set. Near the end of the trial, Rekodi reminds you to subscribe.
If a subscription is not paid by its expiry, there is a 2-day grace period during which Rekodi keeps working but reminds you on each reply. After the grace period, the service is suspended — Rekodi stops responding — but your data is not deleted. It is kept safe and becomes available again as soon as you resubscribe.
You agree not to:
We may suspend an account that puts the service or other users at risk.
Your records are yours. Using Rekodi does not transfer ownership of your business data to us. We hold and process it to provide the service, as described in the Privacy Policy.
We work to keep Rekodi available and accurate, but during testing it is provided as-is, without a guarantee of uninterrupted service. Message interpretation is automated and can occasionally get something wrong — you should check important figures.
Rekodi gives you your own numbers back; it does not provide accounting, financial, investment, legal or tax advice. For decisions that need professional advice, consult a qualified accountant or advisor.
To the extent permitted by law, Rekodi and its operator are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for losses arising from figures you entered incorrectly, decisions you made based on the records, or interruptions to the service during the testing period. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
We may update these terms as Rekodi develops; the date at the top shows the latest version, and we'll flag material changes. You can stop using Rekodi at any time and ask us to close your account. We may end or suspend the service, or an account, with reasonable notice except where immediate action is needed to protect the service or comply with the law.
These terms are governed by the laws of Kenya, and any dispute is subject to the Kenyan courts.
